Jim Margaritis is the Head of Sales – Pharmacy and Institutional for Viatris Australia, with responsibility for leading a team that ensures access of high-quality medicines to patients, that provides a significant portion of the company’s revenue. He is also responsible for building and maintaining key strategic relationships and shape Viatris’ strategic direction in retail pharmacy, hospitals and wholesalers, to ensure every patient in Australia has access to Viatris medicines.
Prior to this, Jim was the Change Champion of Pfizer’s Upjohn division, the company’s off-patent and generics business, playing an integral role in the separation of Upjohn from Pfizer and its subsequent integration into Viatris during the COVID-19 pandemic, launching the Commercial Operations Team to manage the change of business model. Before taking up this role in 2020, Jim served as commercial lead – hospital solutions for Pfizer Australia, and commercial lead at Upjohn ANZ.
Jim began his career at Mylan and has over 18 years of experience in a number of commercial roles at companies including Alphapharm and Amneal Pharmaceuticals.
A graduate of Swinburne University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business, Jim has recently completed an executive leadership program in Leading Global Businesses at Harvard Business School. Alongside his work, Jim has played an active role in Foodbank Australia and the Royal Children’s Hospital fundraisers.
